Yard Work

Typically on Friday's, when someone tries to make small talk, the conversation usually consists of: "So any big plans for the weekend?" or something to that affect. Well this past Friday, I knew that Taylor had yard work in mind, so I didn't get to say "oh yes, we're going to a birthday party" or "we're going to the Seahawks game" I just said "Well, my husband is too responsible and has planned for us to do yard work and other miscellaneous house work". And that's just what we did.
I got up early and cleaned the house, and once Taylor got up and moving, he ran to Home Depot to grab moss killer and something else for the lawn. The lawn is his pride and joy. He mows a couple times a week and throughout the summer, made sure to water to keep it green. I think he loves to mow because he bought himself a new riding lawn mower at the beginning of the summer when the hand-me-down one finally died.

So he mowed, I ran and did our weekend errands like grocery shopping, and when I came home, I followed through with my promise to weed the flower beds. Fortunately the front wasn't too bad. The worse part were all of the spiders everywhere! I hate spiders! Especially the crinkle-leg ones that we have so many of right now. Along with cleaning up the flower beds, I swept the front of the house and killed all the spiders and cleaned off all the spider webs. Now the front of the house really looks nice!

One of my piles of weeds.
The front of the house that I swept
I can't wait until we paint. We hoped to do it before the winter, but that might not happen until the Spring. We'll see. I didn't finish cleaning the back flower beds because there were a ton of bees and they wouldn't leave me alone! So I went around and killed all the spiders I could with spider spray, and sat out in the nice warm sunshine, on the nicely mowed lawn. My husband on the other hand worked for hours and hours. I am so thankful for all that he does. I often feel guilty that I do not do as much as he does. He enjoys doing it and takes pride in our new home- so I guess I really shouldn't feel too bad.

The right side of the yard.

I weeded the area in the front of the house, in between our u-shaped driveway.
I came inside from taking a few pics, and this is what I found:

Bazzle and Taylor taking a nap

Alli found Taylor taking a nap and had to get in on the action.
He was taking a little power nap before we headed over to his sister's place for dinner and game night.
Me after weeding and enjoying some sunshine

We headed over to Dominique's to play games, but ended up talking about our jobs and just shootin' the breeze for the evening. We did have the opportunity to experience the new Double Stuffed Pepperoni pizza. I love the commerical. I guess it's not the commerical I love, I was just impressed with marketing idea of the giant pizza cutter that sounds like a chainsaw.

Yummy!!!
We had a nice evening out. Too bad we never did get to the games, but maybe next time.

Today, Sunday, we were pretty lazy. Taylor setup a Facebook page, so now I get to make fun of him like he does me, about always being on Facebook. I watched the Houston vs. Dallas game and then watched the Seahawks vs. Chargers game. Wow! What a fantastic game! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! The Hawks did a fabulous job running the ball and Leon Washington rocked not once, but TWICE, with returning the kickoff with touchdowns!!! Though they struggled at the end, they came out ahead! Go Hawks!!!

Overall, we had a great weekend! I guess in the future, I can think of an upcoming weekend of yard work/house work as one to look forward to. I love you Taylor, for everything you do.

Proofs!

We were married on August 13th, 2010, so not even two months ago. We have been anxiously waiting for our photographer, who is also my Great-Uncle, to reveal some photos! He had sent me a message to let me know that some of the photos were up on his website, and when I checked today, even more proofs had been posted! Woohoo! They are all in black and white for now- I absolutely can't wait to see them all finished! We are so thankful to him for taking the time to do our engagement, wedding rehearsal and wedding photos. Thank you Uncle Lloyd!

Here is a sneak peek at a wedding proof:

We're almost half way through the week! Although I typically wish my weeks away, (awaiting the weekends) there have been many around me who have passed on recently. This has reminded me to be a little more thankful for each breath I'm blessed with everyday. Sweet dreams

Take me out to the ball game!!!

We made it home from the Mariner's vs. Ranger's game! Taylor and his sister bought tickets for Bill (Taylor's dad) for his birthday back in April. I thought the tickets were for Father's Day, but I was mistaken. The weather was perfect! When Taylor and I arrived, the roof was closed, but about a half hour before the game started, they opened it up!

Here are a few pictures of the event. We won at the last minute, so at least the M's AND the Hawk's didn't choke today.

Sorry, I had to throw this in. I snuck out of bed this morning to take this picture of Alli and Bazzle. They really do love each other, no matter what they try to portray.

Taylor is always such a sport to take the pictures for me! Here we are before heading out.

Sporting my old school Mariner's jacket. Taylor's uncle who recently passed away had it, and I was the lucky lady to inherit it! We miss you Uncle Gary.

Oh yeah....stretch it boys!

Look at the screen!

The girls tried and tried to get up on the big screen! Finally they made it by their groovin' moves! We kept telling them that if they keep dancing, they'll eventually make it to the big screen! You can see the camera man in the corner. They were pretty excited! And let's be honest, I thought it was pretty cool that I could see myself on the big screen, looking at the big screen! haha!

A picture of the screen with the girls on it! Woohoo!

We didn't get a family photo like we did last year. Those that attended this year were: Bill, Heidi, Dominique, Haylee, Haylee's friend, Parker, Taylor and me!

Us with the Mariner Moose

We hope Bill enjoyed his birthday gift! The weather held up, but when it looked like rain, they closed the roof. That may have been the highlight of the game, was the roof closing. I'm not much a baseball fan, and neither is Taylor. Nonetheless, the day was for Bill Johnston, and we had a great time celebrating his birthday with him at the game. We love you!

As for the rest of our weekend, Friday after work I visited my Papa for a couple of hours, who I haven't seen since the wedding. It was great to see him and visit with him for a while. Aftewards Taylor and I cuddled up on the couch and watched some t.v. Saturday, we ran our weekend errands and did our weekend chores and today we went to the game! Wish we had an extra day, but at least the weekend is only 5 wake-ups away!

Here's to another week in paradise!

Sporting Events

After almost 2 hours of messing around with the different templates, layouts and html "stuff", I think I've settled on a color and design...for now.

Last weekend we went to the Seahawks vs. the 49ers game at Qwest Field and had an absolute blast! Taylor got tickets at the last minute from his boss who has season tickets. The weather was perfect! We ran into some friends while we were there as well, so after the big win for the Hawks, we celebrated at our friends' tailgate party! (thanks for the munchies!)Out of all the seats in the entire stadium, we managed to be find them only two sections away!

Before heading out

What are you hiding in your sock husband?

(Thanks to the 49ers fan behind us for the pic)

She was trying to get out of the picture as I was trying to take a picture of where our friends were sitting.

Me and one of my best friends, Wendy. I was so happy we ran into her and her hubby there!

My handsome hubby
We had a fabulous time at the game. This upcoming weekend is the Mariner's Game we're going to with the Johnston family. Taylor and his sister bought tickets for their dad for Father's Day. Photos to come!

We've arrived!!!

I've really been wanting to start a blog for sometime now, but wanted to wait until after the wedding to do so. So here I am, and here we are! I have no idea how to rearrange the template and layout, so you'll have to bare with me until I can figure it all out!

I am laughing at myself right now, writing this, as no one knows we have a blog, therefore I'm writing this to myself. Oh well....

Taylor and Kari: Welcome to the world of blogging!!!
