This past week we had the opportunity to spend with Daddy, as he was off of work until Friday. It was so nice to get a few extra zzz's, hang with both of my favorite people, and watch as Miss Vienna is becoming more and more accustomed to this crazy world.

Friday night we went down to Arts Walk. It was a little drizzly but we decided to risk it. Honestly, it wasn't great. Taylor carried Miss Vienna in her carrier against his chest while I pushed an empty stroller through the crowds- no one moves for a stroller, letmetellyah. Before becoming a mom, I thought strollers were annoying too! They are in the way in dept stores, grocery stores, public events- but obviously my perspective has slightly changed. I do still think they are annoying, but I feel like I deserve the royal treatment while I'm pushing mine. I want to rule the road dang it! Or at least have it shared with me like I was a single person with a small clutch purse instead of my giant stroller and diaper bag.
So after walking around for a bit and Vienna being woken up by this woman performer who thought screaming at the top of her lungs was an artistic approach to singing, we headed to Chopstix for dinner. Taylor ran in to see if there was room for...yep, the stroller. Ugh, the dang stroller! Fortunately there was. So I meander in and of course it's packed. I'm trying not to hit anyone and Taylor suggests that we just collapse the stroller. Here we are, Vienna still strapped to Taylor's chest, and we're all trying to collapse the stroller. Why won't it collapse? Oh because we have the car seat still attached. LOL Embarrassing!! We finally get it all figured out and Vienna decides she's starving and vocalizes this quite well. I had yet to nurse in a restaurant, so this was a first for me. Next to us was a family with two little kiddos and the youngest who told me she was 4, asked why I had to use a blanket to cover the baby while nursing. :-) She was so cute- and I quickly realized I shouldn't stress about nursing in public. And really I haven't- it was just in this small crowded restaurant I felt uncomfortable- which the feeling dissipated once the 4 year old was confused as to why I had to keep her covered...the reality is, I didn't need to!Anywho, we had dinner which was delicious, thought about walking around some more but decided to just head home. The evening as a whole was great- the trying times in the middle are what make these experiences so memorable. I know someday soon I'll be laughing at how retarded I feel sometimes being a new mommy! Regardless of how out of my comfort zone I feel, just one glance at my Sweetums brings me right back

Friday marked 9 weeks since sweet baby Vienna graced us with her presence in the flesh. What a special day that was. I just love this little girl to pieces.

Saturday we had many tentative plans/goals for ourselves, but just ended up hanging at home until Taylor's Uncle Kevin's 60th Bday party. Vienna is so much fun to hang with- she loves to talk, snuggle, smile, laugh- she just melts our hearts. At the party, Vienna was able to meet some of her family she had yet to meet which was fun. Of course the event featured another round of hot-potato baby Vienna- she is just so loved and adored, I wasn't surprised. :-)
Happy 60th Uncle Kevin!!
Sunday we ran our usual weekend errands, Taylor mowed the lawn while Miss Vienna and I snuggled on the couch and read. Daddy decided to give his Princess a pedicure before bed: I was resistant to the toe-job, but Daddy was sure to look up if it was okay. Fortunately for him, she is not yet putting her toes in her mouth which would be the reason not to have any nail polish at this age. He did a pretty good job!
Daddy caught me hanging with Miss Vienna, listening to her new word(s) she discovered yesterday that sounds like she's gurgling saliva in the back of her throat. It's cute when she doesn't have any saliva back there: she tries so hard to make the sound with or without it! So darling.
We are so blessed to have such a healthy, beautiful baby girl. I love each and every little thing about her, more and more each moment. I sometimes wish I could freeze time to enjoy her fresh personality and sweet kisses just a little longer...she's truly the best gift ever.
