Heavy Hearted

Today is my last official day on maternity leave. I've decided not to shower. I've decided to let Vienna nap in my arms instead of her crib. I've decided to hug and kiss her as many times as possible through the day. I've decided to review all of our pictures since she was born. I've decided to get all of my photos ready for my work desk so no matter where I look, I can see her.

Tomorrow is going to be a tough day. I'm fortunate to only have to work part-time for a while, but I've not spent much time away from my baby girl and it's just breaking my heart even thinking about leaving her. I'm tough. I'll make it. Right?

Stroller Moments

This past week we had the opportunity to spend with Daddy, as he was off of work until Friday. It was so nice to get a few extra zzz's, hang with both of my favorite people, and watch as Miss Vienna is becoming more and more accustomed to this crazy world.

Daddy put Vienna in her bumbo while Mommy attempted to go for a run

Friday night we went down to Arts Walk. It was a little drizzly but we decided to risk it. Honestly, it wasn't great. Taylor carried Miss Vienna in her carrier against his chest while I pushed an empty stroller through the crowds- no one moves for a stroller, letmetellyah. Before becoming a mom, I thought strollers were annoying too! They are in the way in dept stores, grocery stores, public events- but obviously my perspective has slightly changed. I do still think they are annoying, but I feel like I deserve the royal treatment while I'm pushing mine. I want to rule the road dang it! Or at least have it shared with me like I was a single person with a small clutch purse instead of my giant stroller and diaper bag.
So after walking around for a bit and Vienna being woken up by this woman performer who thought screaming at the top of her lungs was an artistic approach to singing, we headed to Chopstix for dinner. Taylor ran in to see if there was room for...yep, the stroller. Ugh, the dang stroller! Fortunately there was. So I meander in and of course it's packed. I'm trying not to hit anyone and Taylor suggests that we just collapse the stroller. Here we are, Vienna still strapped to Taylor's chest, and we're all trying to collapse the stroller. Why won't it collapse? Oh because we have the car seat still attached. LOL Embarrassing!! We finally get it all figured out and Vienna decides she's starving and vocalizes this quite well. I had yet to nurse in a restaurant, so this was a first for me. Next to us was a family with two little kiddos and the youngest who told me she was 4, asked why I had to use a blanket to cover the baby while  nursing. :-) She was so cute- and I quickly realized I shouldn't stress about nursing in public. And really I haven't- it was just in this small crowded restaurant I felt uncomfortable- which the feeling dissipated once the 4 year old was confused as to why I had to keep her covered...the reality is, I didn't need to!Anywho, we had dinner which was delicious, thought about walking around some more but decided to just head home. The evening as a whole was great- the trying times in the middle are what make these experiences so memorable. I know someday soon I'll be laughing at how retarded I feel sometimes being a new mommy! Regardless of how out of my comfort zone I feel, just one glance at my Sweetums brings me right back

Friday marked 9 weeks since sweet baby Vienna graced us with her presence in the flesh. What a special day that was. I just love this little girl to pieces.

We crashed on the couch after Arts Walk
Saturday we had many tentative plans/goals for ourselves, but just ended up hanging at home until Taylor's Uncle Kevin's 60th Bday party. Vienna is so much fun to hang with- she loves to talk, snuggle, smile, laugh- she just melts our hearts. At the party, Vienna was able to meet some of her family she had yet to meet which was fun. Of course the event featured another round of hot-potato baby Vienna- she is just so loved and adored, I wasn't surprised. :-)

Happy 60th Uncle Kevin!!

Sunday we ran our usual weekend errands, Taylor mowed the lawn while Miss Vienna and I snuggled on the couch and read. Daddy decided to give his Princess a pedicure before bed: I was resistant to the toe-job, but Daddy was sure to look up if it was okay. Fortunately for him, she is not yet putting her toes in her mouth which would be the reason not to have any nail polish at this age. He did a pretty good job!

Daddy caught me hanging with Miss Vienna, listening to her new word(s) she discovered yesterday that sounds like she's gurgling saliva in the back of her throat. It's cute when she doesn't have any saliva back there: she tries so hard to make the sound with or without it! So darling.

We are so blessed to have such a healthy, beautiful baby girl. I love each and every little thing about her, more and more each moment. I sometimes wish I could freeze time to enjoy her fresh personality and sweet kisses just a little longer...she's truly the best gift ever.

Fun in the Sun

We had a great weekend filled with sunshine, friends, yummy food and BABIES!

Saturday we had Vienna's BFF Kylee over (and her awesome parents) for a bonfire/BBQ. Can you believe it?! The weather was nice enough for this already!

We are totally in love with Melissa and Tony. We're hopeful the girls will continue to be BFFs so we can have playdates as parents!
Vienna and Kylee have a lot in common you see:
-Born on the same day
-Born at the same hospital
-Delivered by the same Dr.
-Parents went to the same birthing class and breastfeeding class

-Weigh about the same
-Have some of the same outfits
-Enjoy the same food
-Are both absolutely ADORABLE
And the best part is, their parents both like each other! It's a win/win!

Sunday was filled with breakfast outside on the patio at Pelligrino's, a walk around Farmers Market and relaxation at home.

Monday was full of running errands, showing off our bundle of joy, washing cars and reading in the shade.

We couldn't have asked for a better 3 days! Can't wait for more fun days in the sun!

"Long and Lean"

Vienna had her 2 month well check this morning and while I was looking forward to learning how much she had grown since her 2 week check-up, I was not expecting her to receive a bunch of vaccines! (Does that make me a bad mom that I hadn't followed the schedule enough to see shots were in order today?! Hey, we can't all be perfect. I was just lucky I remembered the appt time and her vaccine booklet!)
Awesome band aids

Overall, the appointment went really well- it's just been since the appointment that Baby Vienna hasn't been as happy go lucky as she typically is. My poor baby.

Sad face today: those shots were not fun Mom!

Vienna's 2 month stats:
Weight:  10lbs 2oz
Height:   22.75inches
Head:     38cm

According to her pediatrician, Vienna is very strong, is holding her head up exceptionally well while on her belly, and is "long and lean". A Typical Johnston right?!

At 2 months Vienna is always practicing her smile and laugh, exercising her voice with lots of conversations with mommy and daddy, loves her nursery, loves tummy time, being sang to and talked to, eats like a champ and loves to be snuggled. She sleeps really well, which is a treat for her Mommy!
She has been such a blessing in our lives; I don't know how we ever survived without her!!

Our two month Angel
Happy 2 Month Birthday Baby Girl! We love and adore every little thing about you!!

Hello blogging world! So much has changed since July of last year...to Blogger that is! I'm having a tough time getting used to all the new changes. I've updated the new look but now am having a tough time figuring out how to update the info on the blog! Uh!
Anyway, since I made the effort to jump on the computer to work on our blog, I figured I had at least attempt to post something on here. The latest scoop? Well, we added the sweetest, prettiest, funniest, most special addition to our household: a Baby GIRL!! Yes, that's right! We got pregnant, I ballooned up, and we delivered our beautiful Vienna MaryAnn Elizabeth on February 24th, 2012!
