Yard Work

Typically on Friday's, when someone tries to make small talk, the conversation usually consists of: "So any big plans for the weekend?" or something to that affect. Well this past Friday, I knew that Taylor had yard work in mind, so I didn't get to say "oh yes, we're going to a birthday party" or "we're going to the Seahawks game" I just said "Well, my husband is too responsible and has planned for us to do yard work and other miscellaneous house work". And that's just what we did.
I got up early and cleaned the house, and once Taylor got up and moving, he ran to Home Depot to grab moss killer and something else for the lawn. The lawn is his pride and joy. He mows a couple times a week and throughout the summer, made sure to water to keep it green. I think he loves to mow because he bought himself a new riding lawn mower at the beginning of the summer when the hand-me-down one finally died.

So he mowed, I ran and did our weekend errands like grocery shopping, and when I came home, I followed through with my promise to weed the flower beds. Fortunately the front wasn't too bad. The worse part were all of the spiders everywhere! I hate spiders! Especially the crinkle-leg ones that we have so many of right now. Along with cleaning up the flower beds, I swept the front of the house and killed all the spiders and cleaned off all the spider webs. Now the front of the house really looks nice!

I can't wait until we paint. We hoped to do it before the winter, but that might not happen until the Spring. We'll see. I didn't finish cleaning the back flower beds because there were a ton of bees and they wouldn't leave me alone! So I went around and killed all the spiders I could with spider spray, and sat out in the nice warm sunshine, on the nicely mowed lawn. My husband on the other hand worked for hours and hours. I am so thankful for all that he does. I often feel guilty that I do not do as much as he does. He enjoys doing it and takes pride in our new home- so I guess I really shouldn't feel too bad.

I weeded the area in the front of the house, in between our u-shaped driveway.
I came inside from taking a few pics, and this is what I found:

Alli found Taylor taking a nap and had to get in on the action.
He was taking a little power nap before we headed over to his sister's place for dinner and game night.

We headed over to Dominique's to play games, but ended up talking about our jobs and just shootin' the breeze for the evening. We did have the opportunity to experience the new Double Stuffed Pepperoni pizza. I love the commerical. I guess it's not the commerical I love, I was just impressed with marketing idea of the giant pizza cutter that sounds like a chainsaw.

Yummy!!!
We had a nice evening out. Too bad we never did get to the games, but maybe next time.

Today, Sunday, we were pretty lazy. Taylor setup a Facebook page, so now I get to make fun of him like he does me, about always being on Facebook. I watched the Houston vs. Dallas game and then watched the Seahawks vs. Chargers game. Wow! What a fantastic game! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! The Hawks did a fabulous job running the ball and Leon Washington rocked not once, but TWICE, with returning the kickoff with touchdowns!!! Though they struggled at the end, they came out ahead! Go Hawks!!!

Overall, we had a great weekend! I guess in the future, I can think of an upcoming weekend of yard work/house work as one to look forward to. I love you Taylor, for everything you do.

This guy is on Facebook!
