Huskies!

In 2009, when I finally finished up my AA, I planned to complete my BA at UW-Tacoma or Saint Martin's. I had my choice, as both schools had accepted me. I eventually decided on UW-Tacoma because they had evening classes and also a Social Welfare program. That summer, we were in the middle of purchasing our house, when I was laid-off from Berschauer Phillips, my employer of 3+ years. The house had all but gone through, so I really had no choice other than to put my education on hold until I managed to find a job to help with the mortgage we had just signed up for.

Once I landed my job with the State, I thought I'd start in the Winter of 2009. Instead, I procrastinated and decided I'd start in the Spring. I was again admitted and realized how busy I was with the wedding planning, that adding school to the mix would have been more than I wanted to take on.  So I recently just re-applied to begin classes in Winter of 2010 and received my admittance letter yesterday!!! I guess purple is going to be my new color! (Sorry Wendy)

I am really looking forward to finishing up my degree. The classroom setting is an escape for me: I love to critically think and analyze ideas and social norms that I may not have otherwise thought twice about. Though I haven't completely decided if I'm taking the Social Welfare or Psychology path career wise, I know I'm headed in the right direction.

Now I can finally take advantage of the student discount at the movies again!!
